It's been three years, since I've been able to wear high heels because of my knee surgeries. Sure sometimes I miss them, but I've learned to rock the cute flat boots and kitten heels. I'd still love for someone to compliment me on my new style.
So is it creepy or flattering if a man compliments you on your shoes?
Let me explain the question…
This week, I went out to lunch with a male co-worker/friend of four years. We went to the Boxed Lunch Company restaurant in the San Francisco financial district. As we waited in line to order food, my friend pointed out the amazing red mary-jane high-heeled shoes the woman in front of us was wearing. He noticed her shoes before I did. And you know, what he was right.
They were fabulous!

To work, she was wearing a tailored gray suit, with a wide black belt and perfect boutique earrings. But the piece de resistance was her choice to wear red heels. And so I told my male/married friend to compliment her on her shoes.
To my surprise he didn't tell her, but continued to admire them from afar.
Would you appreciate someone pointing out your hard work or does it depend on the compliment giver? To answer my own question, I think it depends on who the compliment giver is. So today will you join me in trying an experiment? Today let's go out and give three people a compliment. It could be our own ‘pay it forward’ little secret. Comment below and tell me if you're with me. Have a good Friday lovelies!

i compliment the girls at the office everytime i think they wear something nice or changed their hair or make up. and i don't mind when they do the same.
but from men it's really hard for me to take compliements. i think it's because of my dad. he gave a compliment for the first time about 4 years ago!!! before that, i promise, NE-VER! so i always feel embarrased or chatted up!!
silly...
have a great weekend
DesBisoux: Thanx for your comment sweetie and its great that you recognize this! Have a great weekend.
Oh, I LOVE shoes. My boss (a man) always used to compliment me on my attire (suit, skirt, jacket, shoes, etc...) He would even notice if I cut my hair or styled it a different way. Now, to some, this could be construed as sexual harassment, but he did it in a non-sexual, non-threatening way. I appreciated it.
ps. my husband always compliments me too! It's nice.
To be fair ..and I am using a generalization if a women gives a compliment to a an unknown woman or co-worker society (and women in general) see it is sweet, fun, highly regarded, ego-boosting. If a man gives a compliment to a woman who he works with or is generally unfamiliar with it is a pickup, comes with an agenda or is sexual harassment. Now if we turn it around and the situation is woman to guy it may be considered forward, a pick-up, "she likes me" , whatever it is still socailly acceptable. As for the guy to guy example. Well we do it, but I think it is rarer because we are so competitive. I think from an evolutionary standpoint we are more likely to size up the competition in our territory than compliment it.It takes more training and effort for us to get over that compulsion. Now please don't flame me. I know there are exceptions to every rule and this is a big generalization. However, please examine what I have said for some merit of truth. However, if you have good arguments that I am way off base I am willing to hear them.
I think it would depend on the commenter for me. I have got compliments from clients at work, and I wished they had just kept their mouths just, but sometimes you get that occassional one were it was really nice to hear. I try to compliment at least one co-worker in my group a day. It's funny because the first few times I did it, it toally caught them off guard and it was well worth it. Now in the mornings I hear lots of people exchanging compliments when they see each other. It makes for a great morning.
Yesterday I had a customer, and I needed my supervisor's help with something and my supervisor acknowledge the customer and the customer was very impressed and asked me to write her a note. My supervisor still has the note pinned on her moniter. Pretty sure she will keep it for a while.
Great Post
I like compliments and I try to remember to accept them gracefully. I am just loafing at home so I will just compliment my kids on their cuteness.
Oooh la la... love high heels and feminine ways!!!
