San Francisco is known for its small apartments and high rents, but I feel honored to live in such a beautiful city that I use as my playground. Sure, I can get stir crazy from the small space known as our apartment. I’ve also gotten use to the street noise and tour buses looking for Lombard Street. In addition to all of the noise that comes with city living, I also get to hear a noisy neighbor that likes to sing several times a week.
And, if I could write a letter to this neighbor, this is what I would say...
Dear Noisy Neighbor,
We’ve never met formally, but I'd like to thank you for teaching me what Korean rock is. You serenade me between the hours of 4p.m. and 8p.m. and your concert is filled with songs I’ve never heard of. And yet, you seem to sing these same songs over and over. And if we ever meet, I’d like to give you several things. One my iPod with earphones so you can sing a little quieter, two a song list with other song choices and three some dance lessons. You might be asking yourself why dance lessons? I believe, we should have several hobbies =)
I'm sorry to say, that I’ve had to close my windows when we’ve had friends over for dinner. It's just so we can listen to our choice of music, but after a couple glasses of wine I've enjoyed your singing immensely.
If you think it’s only me in our apartment that feels this way, then you are incorrect sir. I have passed people in the hallways, at the front door and even at the local coffee shop that feel the same way. And one night, when I went to shut my windows, I saw another neighbor doing the same thing.
Neighbor, rain or shine, thank you for being there for me!
~Laura
And people say that blogging isn’t a form of therapy. Phew, I feel so much better. Wait what time is it? I really have to go as my noisy neighbors concert is about to begin. How would you handle a situation like this one? Have a great weekend lovelies! (Click here for more posts about SF landlords).

jeannie: Thanx honey! I feel so much better.
PinkBow: Have a great weekend!
And of course, the noisy neighbour can't sing anything recognizable - like say Neil Diamond. What? Anything has to be better than what you've had to listen to.
I'm really enjoying your blog. Have a fabulous weekend.
I've tried knocking and talking before but it usually leads to ill feelings. Maybe a note will work.
Why don't you record it for us and post an mp3 so we can all enjoy it
blogging is SO therapy.
LOL! This reminds me of my neighbor rant that I did - OMG this guy's dog drives me NUTZ!!
I feel like recording a tape of his dog who whines for hours and then playing it when I leave my apt...
Wait. thats a wonderful idea!!
XOXO
Amy
