Retro fashion tea party

It's not easy to create a retro fashion tea party, but I felt like combining my two loves of tea and fashion. Tea has always been calming to me. My mother use to drink 3-4 cups a day and taught me how to make the correct color of English tea with milk. Over the years, I have been able to branch out to enjoy green and chamomile tea, but my first love still is Earl Grey. And fashion, well, we've always been good friends. You've been cordially invited to my tea party...

I am in love with this fashion tea party picture from String Magazine, Vancouver's online fashion culture magazine. The color of her dress with her lovely retro makeup, shows the contrast of the green grass...just stunning!

During my childhood, we made trips to England to visit my parent's friends and family. We would always go to Marks & Spencer. These retro tea covers are fabulous from there...

This Alice in Wonderland fashion tea party picture was influenced by the upcoming movie starring Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton. I'm looking forward to seeing what Tim comes up with.

Can you pour me a cup of tea while I keep writing? Ah thanx sweetie!

And I love this very San Francisco retro and vintage picture at a coffee shop. Her red hair, pink lips and nails are a wonderful contrast to her teal sweater and teacup. This pic is a great way of finishing our retro fashion tea party. Tell me sweetie, do you feel the same way I do about tea? If not what do you do to stay calm? Have a happy Monday!

I love a good cup of tea. It's soothing and tends to make you slow down a bit. When we visited the Greenbrier last year for our anniversary, they had tea everyday at 3:30 p.m. Just lovely.

I've always wanted to throw and Alice in Wonderland tea party. I think it would be so much fun and I'd love to see what costumes my friends come up with.

I'm secretly planning a tea party for the early summer. Okay, maybe it's not so much of a secret anymore. But I've yet to disclose the location or concept. My favorite part about it is going to be dressing up. And I'm going to wildly enjoy baking lots of delicious little treats for it as well.

Laura -- thanks for the cuppa! i'm just getting into the tea side of the house for "Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf" (my fave of the big house coffee joints). however, for me, chill time, er, tea time, consists of a vanilla latte, buttered sourdough toast, and a quick prayer.
