Wishful Wednesday: Keeping a clean house

On this wishful Wednesday, I feel inspired by the book I've been reading about DIRT and the obsession of cleaning house. Honestly, my world is always kept clean and organized. In fact, I feel out of control when I see my bed is unmade. More on my quirks and habits tomorrow. Enjoy these cleaning retro pictures. I've missed you Mr. Clean!

I always do my laundry in my fuzzy slippers. Don't you?

Can I still get 50 cents from you for emptying the dishwasher?

She looks so happy. Do you think its because of the vacuum or because of her blue walls?

Love this picture and it made me laugh aloud. Comment below and tell me what kind of house you keep?

I think the woman with the vacuum cleaner is smiling because she just committed a crime and has sucked up all the evidence. Obviously quite proud of herself. :)

I love these retro ads. I got married and moved into a new apartment in a strange year. I had quit my job to write full time, and my husband was always away on business. So I felt like one of those retro housewives at home, always finding some corner to dust or clean, and watching a lot of daytime TV-- because let's face it, when you're not squinting at a computer screen, you need some background noise to keep you company while you clean. I would never want that life again, and returned to work shortly thereafter. I'm not as obsessive about cleaning anymore, but when I do spring cleaning, I go nuts on my shelves and closets!

I have a tidy-enough-for-me house until I know company's coming and then it's spotless-because-everyone-must-think-I'm-perfect house. When my boyfriend moves in with me in a couple of months he's in for a big surprise!

I hate it when I pull myself too thin and only have time to really clean once a week. Then I feel bitter about missing a day off to cleaning. I do this thing that does help. When sitting down to watch tv, I get up and put 3 things away during the commercials. That way you can watch tv and pick up the house.

Blondie-lox: Hehe. I will always imagine you this way xoxo You have to read the book DIRT I loved it. I'll be doing a giveaway so please enter.

I love brownies: Great answer. So she's cleaning up the evidence? Now that I think about it, she does have a evil look.

In Germany Mr. Clean is called Mr. Proper! My favourite character at Desperate Housewives is definetely Bree! Her sense for perfection in every way of live is terrific!

Oh I love these pictures. Reminds me of the Japanese 'Mr Sparkle'cleaning product from an episode of the Simpsons years ago. My cleaning obsession is crumbs and marks on the floor. My husband NEVER notices these. I clean them about 5 times a day. That's normal right?

love a clean house but since the kids it has really become an uphill battle! I am learning not to stress so much about and enjoy the moment!

With two big dogs, 2 cats, 5 hampsters, and 3 fish tanks; Not to mention the daughter and all of her friends? I like to think my home as cleanly chaos.

My favorite two words are "Machine Washable".

I'm not going to deny a visitor because my dusting hasn't been completed!
Love the ads.

Yep that was porn for me for sure. With 3 kids, it's laundry and I feel that I will never have a clean kitchen floor. Ideally my kitchen floor would be cememnt with a drain in the middle and a hose connected to the wall, just like at the zoo. I can hose everything down and then push it down the drain with a pushbroom.
