My Ode to my Lululemon Pants: How much do I love thee Lululemon Reversible Groove pants?

How much do I love thee Lululemon reversible groove pants? Let me count the ways.

1) I love how you are always waiting for me at home, ready to stretch with me and make me feel chic and comfortable.

2) I love that no matter what I do while wearing you, you bounce back and seem to ask me for more. I have worn you on planes, on a 13 mile walk for the AFSP , dressed up for work, to yoga, on the weekends while doing laundry, walking on the Ipanema beach in Brazil, Queen Street in Toronto and Union Street in San Francisco. (Boy do I shop around.)

3) You never seem to fade, lose shape or complain that I am wearing you too much.

4) I can throw you into my suitcase and you never get wrinkled.

5) You always seem to fit no matter how my body is feeling.

6) I am almost at the point where I love you more then my jeans.

7) The store offers free hemming so you always fit me just right.

8) You have matching tanks.

9) You seem to help me in my yoga practice. Breath in and fall into downward dog position and smile as my pants come with me and keep the sweat away from my body.

10) You make me popular with the cool kids. (Well I can hope can't I?)

So I love you in so ways. A pair of Lululemon pants will cost you around $80 but they are totally worth the money. If you treat them right then your pants can last years and years. Plus Lululemon has sales all the time. This brand is so popular in Toronto that everyone wears the clothing line during the weekend. Go and try a pair out and let me know what you think!

Top ten reasons you’ve been in San Francisco for too long…

Living in San Francisco for six years could really change a person. I thought I would last in the city for six months, but have felt the cleaner air, cooler temperatures and laid back lifestyle change me.

I’ve gotten use to conversations about hiking, yoga positions and Silicon Valley. And even when I leave San Francisco to travel, I miss the beauty. Here are the top ten reasons you know you’ve been in San Francisco too long…(Click here to read the top ten Toronto reasons.)

10) You’ve tried to be a vegetarian, a vegan, consumer of only free-range/ sustainably raised meats and organic fruits and vegetables from the farmer’s market. Wait, which one am I today?

9) You haven’t owned a car in years, forget what its like to put things in a trunk and have a perfect driving record.

8) Due to the hills and a knee injury, you have stopped wearing high heels.

7) You own so many umbrellas and scarves, that they are spread around your house and work. You’ve even left one on the cable car.

6) Protests don’t even faze you, and neither does the Gay Pride Parade. After seeing the parade
you think, “Oh are they naked again this year?”

5) While at a restaurant, you ask to take the leftover’s home, but find yourself giving them to the homeless.

4) You’ve worn black LuLulemon pants to a job interview. Sure yoga wear can be dress-up too!

3) During a dinner party, debate begins about the best iPhone applications.

2) You can’t sleep at night without the sound of the cable car bells.

Drum roll please...And the number one reason you know you’ve lived in San Francisco for too
long is: Your not surprised when it goes from 80 degrees and sunny to 50 degrees and foggy in a matter of minutes.

Top ten reasons you know you’ve been in Toronto for too long….

I’m having a great time visiting my family and friends and interviewing some great photographers and stylists for my lovely readers. I have had my fill of ketchup chips, been to a few brunches and have had several people hold the door open for me…. which leads me to want to write the top ten reasons you know you’ve been in Toronto for too long…

(Click here to read the top ten reasons you've lived in Los Angeles for too long...)

10) After getting asked out on a date, you check their facebook ‘friends’ before accepting their dinner invitation.

9) You have three sets of friends; Childhood, work and camp (from when you were 12)

8) Throughout the day, you tune into the weather channel and to keep up-to-date on the five-day forecast. A girl has to know the difference between a snowstorm and just flurries.

7) In your closet you have two sets of clothes, one for the winter and for summer.

6) During the winter, you know which pair of warm boots to wear just by looking at the sky (e.g., goulashes vs. ski boots vs. Uggs etc.).

5) You’ve seen only one fire engine and police car in six months. On the news it looks like there are shootouts on every corner.

4) When asked for directions from a tourist, you use different Bagel Worlds and Tim Horton’s as landmarks.

3) You joined a hockey league eh!

2) Every Sunday you only wear, or go shopping for, lululemon pants.

And the number 1 reason you know you’ve been in Toronto too long is: The smell of a Panzerotto reminds you of your childhood.

Wishful Wednesday: I'm leaving on a Jet Plane

So, I'm leaving tonight on a Jet Plane. I'm off to Toronto to see my family and friends. On this wishful Wednesday, I wish for safe travels and that I remember all of the following items!

Maybe I'm not bringing these exact socks, but a girl can dream can't she?

My purse will be weighed down with one and two dollar coins, I'm coming loonies and toonies.

I love my red passport cover because it helps me find my passport in the deep, dark hole otherwise known as my carry-on bag.

Vitamins help me get through my flights with energy...well at least in my mind they do.

Would you take me seriously if I showed up with this carry-on? Wait, you wouldn't. Hold a sec, as I go and repack.

Ah, the life of a jet setter, although I honestly might just wear my lululemon pants tonight on the plane.

While I'm away, I am lucky to have some blogger friends write some guest posts and I promise to post as well. Thank you so much ladies.

Guest bloggers are:
Fifi Flowers (tomorrow & July 27th)
3BayBChicks (July 22nd)
Carrie Couture (July 20th & July 23rd)

My cold is worse than yours!

I have been told that I am always positive and happy, even when I bounce like a bunny from task to task. However, there are some days when I have a cold and I feel run down and out of it. I try to do my best and stay positive, but sometimes I start to complain.

Do you ever have this feeling? Do you feel like your stuck in a black hole when you have a cold or flu and your symptoms are horrible? I do. And now, it's official. According to a survey, women are bigger complainers than men when they have colds and flus. In a survey of 2,000 people, 85 percent of women admitted to exaggerating their symptoms to gain sympathy compared to just 76 percent of men.

Is this supposed to make me feel better? Should I be happy that there's scientific proof saying it's normal for me to complain if I am ill?

I ask you, how can this be? Do women really exaggerate their sicknesses more then men? Men might want to be taken care of when they get sick. But, all I'm looking for is a little sympathy from whoever will listen. =) Does this make me a complainer, or just an ill soul in need of a little tender loving care. The survey actually says that, "Women tend to talk more about their feelings generally, but men it seems, appear to vocalize more when they're sick - that's where the myth around 'man' flu originated.”

And now, because of this survey, I find out that when I get sick, I become all dramatic and tell everyone that the world is ending. Uh, well I must admit I do sometimes. Drama, drama, drama...

I was actually sitting on a plane recently, flying back from Los Angeles to San Francisco, when I read this survey. At the time, I was starting to feel sick and thought it was allergies.  Instead, it turned out to be the flu. Being sick during a flight is the worst. So, as I was falling ill on the flight, I came across the article in a magazine I had carried on-board.  It said, "So it's surprising that these results show women to be the biggest complainers when it comes to colds and flus."

Ah, yes. When I got off that plane to Honey, I tried to be a good soldier, suck up the pain, and break the 'women complainers' cycle. It was so hard!

I told myself that I wouldn’t whine.  I would rise above the symptoms and not complain through the sickness. I reminded myself that my Nana always told me, "A cold takes seven days to get over if you take medicine, and a week without!"

And she was right. No matter what I did, my cold had to run its course. I have some remedies that seem to make me calmer. Have you tried any of these? Do they work for you?

1) Chicken soup - An old faithful.  It always seems to clear up my sinuses and is good for my soul. Oy!

2) Wearing comfy clothes - At home, I need to wear my pajamas or my lululemon pants with my thick, white cheerleading socks.

3) Being fuss-free with my hair - If my hair is in a bun, it means I'm not trying.  If I'm not trying, it means I'm really not feeling well.

4) Drinking water - It truly is the secret to getting better quickly.  When I am sick, I try to drink a ton of water.

5) Airborne - I love this stuff. It doesn’t work for everyone, but it sure works for me.

And now, I find out that if I complain about how I’m feeling, I'll support the statistic. Does it count if I say dramatically “Can I get a mask do I don't catch the swine flu?”

Tell me what do you think about this surveys findings? Are women the biggest complainers for colds and flu? Go on, you can tell me. I won't think your complaining!
