A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to get the call. It was an invite to my friend "Mark's" house for dinner. This dinner was different because his parent's were visiting from out of town and he wanted to have a dinner party to showcase their Middle Eastern cooking. He didn't have to ask me twice, we ran at the chance at a home cooked meal. And my god the food was amazing!
Once we had arrived, the house smelt wonderful and the table was set for ten. I loved the candles and blue plates. You can't see in this picture, but the window on the left had a night view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
And this baba ghanoush with pita chips was out of this world. Really Mark and Mark's parent's out did themselves.
I'm sure this picture doesn't do the falafel justice. It was the best I'd ever had. Imagine this falafel sandwiched into a pita with some tomatoes and cucumbers in a vinegar dressing. Yum...
And then it was time for dessert. I was so excited for the molten lava cake that Mark made himself.
And I'm sorry to say, this was all that was left on my dinner plate. I wish you could have been there with us. Not to worry I ate enough for the both of us and took pictures instead. (Click here for more cooking posts). When was the last time you went to a dinner party?

I would have loved this party! Mid-eastern is one of my favorite cuisines and overall it is known for being low on fats. You've totally roused my appetite with this post. Thans for sharing . . .

I have never eaten Middle Eastern food.
I belong to a book/dinner club and one of our members cooked a similar meal. It was just fabulous. Glad you enjoyed yours!
