Let's get physical with this '80's workout

Why does '80's fashion still make me smile? Sure I was also a victim to the big hair, roller skating days, but the workout 'let's get physical' has to take the cake. Looking back at the '80's and seeing my hair don'ts make me question the fashion decade coming back. Well at least I can still wear my Madonna bow?

Oh Olivia Newton-John...I've missed you. Your hair and those leggings just made my day. Why did we wear so many colors and spandex throughout those years? Yes, I can still think of many women who are still rocking out the spandex today!

Her headband and wristband makes this outfit, but who am I kidding who's looking at her wrists? How does she stand so still without smiling. Maybe John Travolta is nearby!

Legwarmers are still the rage in dance studios today. When I was dancing ballet I found legwarmers to be very hot, but made me feel like a dancer. Or was it my ballet leotard and bun?

These shorts are just too classic for words....let me know what you think of them.

Let's get physical, physical, I wanna get physical.....with these pink glasses. I think I just found the outfit I want to wear to work tomorrow. Do you think its a little too much sweetie? I'm pretty sure I could get away with wearing it in San Francisco. So what do you truly miss from the '80's?

Do you believe in beach chic?

This week, we had a warm spell in San Francisco. The weather is so confused as the last 2 weeks we've been covered in rain. In fact, today I left my scarves at home as I watched the fog roll away and sun peer through. Which made me want to go to the beach like I used to when I lived in L.A. Ah beach chic is a wonderful way of dressing for the sun. Cover ups, hats, sunglasses and necklaces have become apart of the trends. So remove your winter coat and come along for a beach day...

These are fabulous beachy colors that would look amazing packing a picnic lunch, swimming or laying out. Pale color is a great way to go unless you want to play matchy with your swimsuit.

I always pose like this when I'm in the water on a photo shoot? Don't you?

This bag is not for the quiet or meek. Just throw on some sunglasses, a hat and you are all set to go for beach chic trends.

If I was staying in Florida this would be the chic kind of place I'd like to stay. It's clean lines and pleasing colors would encourage me to open the windows to hear the ocean.

What happens when your dressed in your beach fashion and want to take a dip in the water? Do you take it all off or dip your feet in the water? Maybe beach chic is just for pictures then.

Who snapped this picture of me without getting my permission? So today if you are covered in snow and cold, I hope these chic beach trends warmed you up a little. It will all be over soon. I promise sweetie! Now, I just can't seem to keep the sand out of my beach bag. What's your favorite part of dressing beach chic?

Wishful Wednesday: Day at the office

On this Wishful Wednesday, I wanted to create a perfect day at the office filled with design and fashion. There's something so crisp about wearing a white and tailored shirt to work. Pair this with a blue necklace and some red shoes and you'll be stylish all day. What would make me even happier, is wearing this shirt the entire day without getting it wrinkled! I also love the color of the retro and home offices.

That's it! I'm going into the office tomorrow and posting every sticky note I can find. Does this mean I should include sticking myself? Well, I'm going to need a lot of post-its!

Isn't this the best home office you've ever seen? If you don't have the room, then just make your office out of a closet.

Wouldn't this be a perfect picture for today's harassment lawyers?

Pearls can make any casual outfit into stylish work clothes. Designing your office space, can make you feel comfortable and get you through the day. I loved this Wishful Wednesday at the office, didn't you? How will you spend your Wishful Wednesday?

Do we have time for glamour?

To me this is glamour! True Hollywood glitz and glamour. I adore this picture and wish I could go out today and replicate her sophistication in that dress. Trust me, I would also settle for dressing all in black. Now, where could we find me a dozen pink balloons?

And then I would lazily sit on this charming couch while thumbing through a magazine. Ah the life of being fabulous! It's such hard work, but someone has to do it...

How fab is she? Inspired by the glam of Billie Holiday with a modern twist. How wonderful and timeless does she look with the flowers in her hair?

I feel like the mothership is calling me home with these alluring fashion collage.

Which leaves me to ask you, do we still have time for glamour? Isn't glamour and adults way of still playing dress up. Have a wonderful weekend!

Wear white after Labor Day!

Happy Labor day my blogging friends. If you give me your permission, to continue to wear my white flats from Nine West after Labor Day, then I promise to let you wear your favorite white dress at Christmas.

Can you hear the angels singing? Oh I can!

I love this black and white picture? Maybe she's in Brazil or Argentina getting ready to go dancing.

These ballet flats are too cute! Do you think these Marc Jacobs shoes would be comfortable?

A moment of silence please for this fab shoe! Do you ever think twice about wearing white after Labor Day?

Guest giveaway: In CC’s Suitcase

Hi lovely readers, I'm having a wonderful time away. Thank you CC for this lovely post and I wish I'd packed these swimsuits and the white J Brand jeans for my trip. Enjoy...
~
Couture Carrie here, darlings! While Laura’s away on her vacation, CC is pondering what to pack for her beach getaway in August. Here are the essentials:

First, the bathing suits! Several bikinis and a maillot or two are essential. CC is definitely bringing this Zelda Sweetwater suit. Perfect for lounging on the deck in retro fabulous style!
Two-pieces are CC’s go-to for sunbathing. This Victoria’s Secret sailboat bandeau top and boyshort bottom are certainly making their way into the Dooney & Bourke luggage!

And CC may just have to take this vintage-inspired polka-dot Popina Swimwear suit as well!

Of course, CC will need some shorts. J. Crew has been the go-to this summer for this warm-weather essential. CC is loving this rugby stripe shorts. The tailoring is impeccable and the pattern is fun and surprisingly flattering! In this photo, I CC has paired the shorts with a simply white tank from Old Navy and a gorgeous
Tolani mauve zigzag scarf from Chickdowntown.com.

For those chilly summer evening barbecues, consider a cardigan or two, either in lightweight cashmere or a sturdy cotton/linen blend. This J. Crew cardi is embellished with ruffles ~ CC adores!

Some dark skinnies are essential, along with a pair of crisp white jeans. CC will certainly be taking these gorgeous J Brand beauties from Chickdowntown.com. Fabulous with a chiffon blouse for an evening on the town. Or pair them with a simple pocket tee for a chic sunset picnic on the beach.

This T by Alexander Wang boat neck dress from shopbop.com is perfection! It can double as both a day dress or cover-up, or, with some chic booties, an evening frock! Furthermore, the cotton is super-soft and comfy. This dress is positively dreamy ~ a very happy summer addition to CC’s wardrobe!

Naturally, a maxi dress is essential. CC is totally smitten with her new Yumi Kim Sari Abstract Rose dress, at yumikimshop.com. Gorgeous print, impeccable fit.

So what will you be stuffing into your Louis Vuitton luggage for that
summer getaway?
xoxox,
CC

P.S. A big thank you to Laura for giving me two guest spots on her fabulous blog during her absence. As always, this has been an enjoyable and fashionable experience!
