Should men wear purses?

Do you think men should wear purses? Last week, I saw the best segment on the Today Show about men wearing purses or sometimes fondly called a 'murse'. I remember the first time one of my favorite guy friends whipped out his designer man clutch before we went out to dinner. He seriously did! And to top it all off his murse went with his laid back outfit. The Today Show showed that all different kinds of men can be these fashionistas; from sports figures to businessmen to stay at home Dad's. And why not? Men also have a ton of items to carry around with them.

It takes a lot to carry iPhones, keys, headphones, wallet and a planner all stuffed into your pant pockets. Trust me you don't even want to know what I have buried in my DKNY purse right now.

And who are these men that are wearing purses? Are they celebrities and socialites? Sure. But isn't it great that men have another option to the standard backpack? Now you can show your fashion flare.

I am in love with this picture because of the mixture of strength and masculinity with well, let's called a spade a spade, a man purse.

Can you hear the Aerosmith song playing, that Dude looks like a Lady...

Ah that was fun! Thank you my fellow fashionistas for letting me indulge. I enjoyed seeing these awesome design pictures of men with their murses. And for some reason I now can't get the song out of my head, that dud looks like a lady. Which leads to me to ask you...Do you think men should wear purses?

I think messenger bags are ok, but a clutch? Um.... no.

Messenger bags and backpacks are still masculine looking, but I can't see any of the guys I know (okay, maybe a couple) using a murse.

"It's not a purse it's a satchel...Indiana Jones wears one!"

I would have to agree with everyone before me (Joanie M, JMW and ~Kenny). Satchels, backpacks: OK. Clutches, or anything in black leather with ONE shoulder strap: definitely not.

I have to agree with the messenger bags and backpacks. Anything else is way too too...
It's not a purse! It's a European shoulder bag! (from the Progressive commercials.)

Depends of the man.
If he's masculine or certain 'type' and knows how to carry his clothes/himself could be ok.
My husband - not his style but he has several messenger bags and backpacks...
Don't get me wrong -
he's masculine! :)

All I have to say is S would never be caught DEAD wearing a man purse. Of course, it totally suits some men... so I am on both sides with this one!

Messenger bags, briefcases, backpacks -- all yes. A definite NO however to a clutch. Really, what do they have to carry around? (And while we're on the subject, fanny packs are also not permissible.)

Yes, men should wear purses. They can call them something else if they need to, but as a woman, I'm sick and tired of "Honey? Can you put this in your purse for me? And this? And this? And can you hold onto this? Oh, and this?" GAHHH!!! Get your own damn purse, I say! Also? That picture of John Wayne? Apparently men can have camel toes, too.

Brandi: Love your answer so much that I am going to tweet it! Nodding my head with you....:)

Murse!!! hahahah I am cracking up right now. I think purses should be a woman's thing, though I am not opposed to a man bag that is cool, and relaxed...nothing with logos and nothing that screams fashionista...thats my opinion:) xxx LZ
