How do I become a Pinup girl?

So my secret is finally out...can you help me fulfill my life long dream of becoming a Pinup girl? Where do I sign up and pose like one of these lovely vixen ladies? There's always been something so strong and sexy about Pinup girl's poses. And I love these modern day pics with a twist...get ready to let me know which Pinup girl is your fav sweetie...

We all scream for ice cream

Why do children have habits...like watching certain TV shows and eating the same ice cream over and over. Last week my co-workers reminded me of my habits. We were talking about the cartoons we used to watch as kids. My fav was Jem and the Holograms and I would race home to catch a new episode. Yes, Jem was truly outrageous...

What will be my something blue?

Do you know where the tradition of something
borrowed and something blue on your wedding day came from? Does every bride try and continue this tradition? And so I've been wondering what my something blue could be. Can it be a handkerchief that I hold or a blue balloon nearby by or can I get away with just having blue eyes?

Can I ever compete with a foodie?

I wish I were a foodie. See I can finally admit it and I even feel a little jealous when I'm sitting a restaurant with foodies. It's like they know the secret to dreaming about food. Talk about it even when they are eating a meal. Foodies must have a secret code that I don't know about it. I honestly don't think about my next meal until I'm hungry and please keep this a secret, but I've even skipped some meals. Shocker!

Girlie boutique Napa inspiration!

I wish I could escape into girlie boutique inspiration today. Don't you sweetie? A place where only flowers, pink and comfy beds exist. And as I recover from a lovely weekend away with my girlfriends in Napa (Tra Vigne is still the best restaurant), I am reminded that sisterhood is some of my glue that keeps me together. Love ya ladies...

Love ya ladies!

Why do I feel so girlie when I have a flower in my hair? Feminine and powerful is an incredible combination!

These tights remind me to feel the girlie inspiration and hold onto the young spirit.

These rain boots give me the inspiration to jump into puddles and spin.

I promise to add these sheets to my girlie boutique one day!

White lights, pale colors and sipping wine outdoors helps me melt into my girlie self.

Ah stunning Jessica Biel. You seem so comfortable in your own skin. Work it, work it, own it own girl!

I love the deep red of these roses from GrowersBox. Infact I was inspired by these roses to paint my nails fishnet stockings last night. Ah sweetie don't ya just love being a girl? What inspiration to you pull from lovely?

Guest blogger Char: San Francisco memories and photographers

Today's guest blogger is Char from Ramblins... wrote a lovely guest post about her experiences with San Francisco and SF photographers. Can I get a drum roll for Char's post please...
~
Hey you all, I’m guest hosting for Laura today. She asked me to write about San Francisco. The thing is, I love the town – I do, but I’ve only gotten to visit one time (boy was that an experience). My funniest (now memory) of the city was sitting in my big old Ford Tarsus at a stop sign, which happened to be at the very top of a large hill and I couldn’t see over the end of the nose of the car. I can remember mentally crossing myself and taking the dive down the hill, of course wondering if I could stop at the next stop sign at the bottom of the hill.

You see, I used to travel with my job – and when I got the opportunity to get near San Francisco (well, the Oakland area) my friend Bud ‘mapped’ a trip for me. He had me drive from my appointment over to Napa to have lunch at the Rutherford Grill (sooooooooooo yummy), drive to Muir Woods (who knew you had to hike to see redwoods???), then I planned to drive to the Golden Gate to see it. I didn’t want to go into the city since it was rush hour. Silly me – I really thought there would be a turnaround before you crossed the bridge.

So, after the harrowing experience of driving across the bridge and being dumped into rush hour – I found the way to the Bay Bridge and inched my way back to the Oakland Airport area. Whew.

Ironically, a couple years later – I made really good friends with two fabulous photographers from the San Francisco area and could have had a guided tour. Laura has been interviewed by Tangobaby for her blog, I live here: SF (a must read for all people loving SF) and you must read Tangobaby’s adventurous blog too.

But, you can’t go without checking out another fabulous photographer – Stacey Debono. You can check out her work on Flickr (a can’t miss). This woman has taught me so much about photography (plus she's the sweetest soul ever). Mad love for her work. Her son, Nick, is also a fabulous photographer (it must run in the family).

So, this is the little southern girl’s adventures in San Francisco, as limited as they were. And you can have a generous laugh on me .

Come with me to a trip to the Napa wine country

I wanted to share with you some lovely pictures that we took on my birthday trip up to Napa Valley, California. The wine country is one of my favorite places. There is so much to learn from the hard working people who run the vineyards that produce the wines we love.

Honey surprised me with this trip to Napa after we saw and loved the movie Bottle Shock. Bottle Shock is the real-life story of how the California's wineries garnered world recognition, after they won 'Judgment of Paris,' a wine-blind-tasting (or is it blind-wine-tasting) against the French.

The photos below were taken at Chimney Rock Winery, Chateau Montelena Winery (the winning vineyard in the white wine section in the "Judgement of Paris" wine competition), Castello di Amorosa (the vineyard is a castle), and finally at Sterling Vineyards.

We took the last picture, shown above, at the Cliff Lede winery. I loved the gardens, their art gallery and their huge tabby cat that slept the entire time. What are some of your favorite types of wine?
