My family and friends are starting to call to check in on me as our weddings are next week lovelies...gulp. Forgive me as I have romance and girlie pics on my mind. Planning a wedding has been such an interesting experience and my father made me giggle the other day when he said," Geez there's a lot of details to take care of. Now I understand why people get wedding planners."
But now I'm feeling these girlie pics that are very warm, fuzzy and romantic. Indulge me as we scroll through a few...

Wedding planning: 3 months to go

Recently my guy friend asked me if I was blogging about how the wedding planning was going. Why do I get surprised when my guy friends show their wedding interest? Like last week I went to our friend’s birthday dinner and was surrounded by guys and they wanted to hear the details and find out how they can help. With only more 3 months to go, I feel my internal clock counting down to the big day. And it seems we have a skeleton of plans and now its time to finalize them. This bride is ready to get the show on the road!

Some of the advice that’s been given to me is to enjoy the planning as everything goes by fast and so does the big day. Except our planning process has changed to be doubly busy with plans so we can arrange two ceremonies.

What will I do with my free time when the weddings are over? Ah Honeymoon here we come!

And recently I thought our Rabbi had stood us up. Let me explain:

Finding a Rabbi hasn’t been an easy task. After months of searching I found a Rabbi that I felt a connection to and so I arranged a meeting for Honey and I to go and meet her.

On a Thursday night, it was starting to rain outside and the lights were out at her office building. In fact, there wasn’t a soul in sight. 6:30 came and went and there was no answer at the door or from her phone. 10 minutes went by and then 20. I turned to Honey and asked him, “Did we just get stood up by a Rabbi?”

I just knew something had happened. Rabbi's can't stand people up, can they?

The next morning my phone rang and it was the Rabbi sounding very groggy and loopy. She let me know that she had broken her leg. She also told me she felt horrible that someone hadn’t gotten in touch with us to cancel the appointment.

Oh no! I let her know we were just happy she was OK.

So there seems to be some ups and downs with our wedding planning. And then the exciting call came yesterday that my bridal dress was in the store and I can come in for a fitting. And so the craziness and wonderful things begin. What wedding planning stories and advice do you have for me?

What will be my something blue?

Do you know where the tradition of something borrowed and something blue on your wedding day came from? Does every bride try and continue this tradition? And so I've been wondering what my something blue could be. Can it be a handkerchief that I hold or a blue balloon nearby by or can I get away with just having blue eyes?

I love this idea of having blue initials on the bottom of my shoe. It can be my own little secret. Shhh don't tell...

These flowers are stunning and very unusual. Carrying a bouquet of these at a wedding would be lovely. Does anyone know what kind of flowers these are?



How cute are these boy shorts? Only you would know that these are under your gown. Plus you can find them at one of my favorite stores in San Francisco jest jewels.

Blue ice cream cones would look wonderful with a bride, especially if she has red lips and doesn't drip anything on her dress. Ah I'm such a slob this can't be me!



I've always enjoyed when brides break away from the norm and wear blue or leopard shoes on their day. Remember in Father of the Bride when she wore tennis shoes?

So I've finally decided that my something blue can just be this wonderful vintage polka dot dress. Would you laugh if you saw me walk down the aisle in this little frock? Oh come on, of course you would. Tell me sweetie, what was your something blue on your wedding day?

Retro fashion tea party

It's not easy to create a retro fashion tea party, but I felt like combining my two loves of tea and fashion. Tea has always been calming to me. My mother use to drink 3-4 cups a day and taught me how to make the correct color of English tea with milk. Over the years, I have been able to branch out to enjoy green and chamomile tea, but my first love still is Earl Grey. And fashion, well, we've always been good friends. You've been cordially invited to my tea party...

I am in love with this fashion tea party picture from String Magazine, Vancouver's online fashion culture magazine. The color of her dress with her lovely retro makeup, shows the contrast of the green grass...just stunning!



During my childhood, we made trips to England to visit my parent's friends and family. We would always go to Marks & Spencer. These retro tea covers are fabulous from there...



This Alice in Wonderland fashion tea party picture was influenced by the upcoming movie starring Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton. I'm looking forward to seeing what Tim comes up with.

And I love this very San Francisco retro and vintage picture at a coffee shop. Her red hair, pink lips and nails are a wonderful contrast to her teal sweater and teacup. Welcome to the bliss lounge

Where do you go when someone tells you to go to your happy place? I've heard friends say they imagine a beach maybe on a paradise island like Kauai, others like to picture the mountains. So where do I go? I try to picture my bliss as the kind that makes me smile and feel warm inside. When life is tough, complicated and rainy, I imagine my pure bliss. Won't you join me as we search for our bliss lounge...

Let's start off by drinking some tea, poured for us by someone that has pure joy in their soul. Ahhh I'm feeling better already!

While sipping our tea at the bliss lounge, let's take some private moments to find our bliss in photographs that document time. Photographs always touch my heart and I feel lost in the emotion.

Winter wonderland retro pictures

In keeping with the Winter Wonderland theme, I took these retro pictures during my holidays just for you. They are a mixture of New Hampshire, L.A. and Boston. See, no matter where I go, I find red, retro, vintage and warmth. First stop on our virtual trip is to the That Little Spot of Red store in Hanover... Please hold as I put my fuzzy slippers on.

How cute is this card? I think the inside had a cute saying as well, but I completely forget what it was. What saying would you write?

This picture was taken at my Uncle's home in the Hollywood Hills. We spent a lovely Thanksgiving with 60 of their closet friends and family. Yes, I said 60 people. Trust me there were no leftovers at all.

See how much I loved That Little Spot of Red? These sticky notes spoke to my blogging heart.

We ate at the recommended Upstairs on the Square in Boston. It felt like a London pub and had great food. Somehow I felt a little smarter with all the Harvard students around me. I also really liked the quaint square.

You can do it little red berries...don't let the snow beat you.

And here my lovelies is a picture of very cold me. I guess the Winter Wonderland didn't break my spirit as I am grinning from ear to ear. I'm pretty sure frosty the snowman is somewhere behind me. I wonder what kind of retro apron he would wear while cooking. Hmmm. I can't wait to read your thoughts on this one....
