Come on Vogue with The September Issue!

Something clicked for me while watching the fashion documentary The September Issue this week. I swear I heard the angels singing. I felt like a fly on the wall in Anna Wintour's office, editor-in-chief to American Vogue. And to get yelled by her would be a dream come true!

Or maybe it would be a thrill for me to just be inside the Vogue walls.

Vogue fall photo shoot

From the documentary it was Grace Coddington, Fashion Editor, that really caught my eye. It is her creative vision for photo shoots, cutting edge fashion and passion for shoots that struck me. Some of Grace's photo's can be seen here.

It was the marriage between Anna and Grace that surprised me. Anna is always on the forefront of Vogue, as she should be. Yet it was Grace that was able to challenge her with her true vision for the magazine.

The September Issue
Take a look at this promo for the movie to see Anna and Grace (the unmistakable redhead) go head to head.

Color, color, color and perfect pose. Work it girls! This picture seems to be flowing through.

I'm pretty sure I have this hat somewhere in my closet from Toronto. Hold on as I go and try it on!

I love this color and wish I could wear it everyday. If I wear a turquoise ring with it would it be too much sweetie?

Love this Cameron Diaz California girl inspired shoot from the Vogue 2009 issue. The September Issue movie helps the viewer understand a little more about the high society in the fashion world. Whether it's designs, to clothes, to photo shoots, to runway shows or flying to Paris a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Tell me, does this movie speak to you like it did to me lovely?

Luxurious Romance Shots from Simply Luxurious

Not everyone can be in touch with their feelings of warmth as Simply Luxurious is and I love how she translates it into these luxurious romance shots. Thank you SL for all of your well wishes and I am in love with your love roll. Tell us sweetie, which picture is your favorite? I think I have two or three!
~
There is something contagious about romance when one sits down to compose a piece with love as the centerpiece. I couldn’t help but smile a bit more, become evermore filled with hope, and reflect on wonderful memories I’ve shared.

There truly is something intoxicating about love, and while Laura and Honey are away allowing themselves to be immersed in such an enthralling emotion, I thought I’d bring a little love to the blogosphere today by sharing a handful of photographs that made me grab my very own pair of rose colored glasses.

Here’s to the lovers, the dreamers and me! (View Kermit’s adorable version of the aforementioned song by clicking here.)

My special organized chaos

Do you ever look around your home and wonder what the definition of organized chaos is? Ah yes the, I put my keys down somewhere and they can be in one of four places. You see, I'm at the other end of the spectrum because my things seem to always have an exact place. In fact I can tell you right now where my ten-year-old birthday gift is. Scary huh? Isn't that my own kind of organized chaos?

If your having trouble getting organized with small spaces try getting this fab book Sorted! It has tons of colorful ideas especially if you hate organization. Bite your tongue sweetie!

I love how these rooms have a simplicity of chaos. They still have a homey feel without it feeling messy.

I'm sure this models closet at home doesn't look like this, but isn't this closet every woman's fantasy?

Have you ever been to The Container Store? I heard the angels singing in my head as I roamed the aisles filled with boxes, hangers, sock boxes, hampers and toiletry bags. Oh a girl can dream can't she? This really is a sickness!

I feel like this room is a little too contained. Wait is there such a thing?

And this is what a bedside table usually turns into, but what happens if company comes over? Well, who doesn't shove everything into a drawer!

Why do I suddenly feel the need to go and clean up a little? Did you enjoy my organized chaos examples and were you nodding your head while looking at the pictures? I can't wait to read your comments about if keeping a neat house is important to you. Enjoy your day sweetie!

Calling all creative children and fashionistas!

Children are some much fun and lovely fashionistas. Well, is it the children or the mommies that are the fashion divas? And if you know me, it's safe to say that I love all things boutique design, retro and colorful. Come along with me as I imagine through pictures a day in the life of a creative child....

These colorful plates would make a wonderful addition to a kitchen or playroom. And easy to make, creative and loads of fun to use. In fact, I think I'll do this to my registry wedding china when I get them. Hmmm maybe not.

This picture has a warm and playful design to it. It's almost like the children were just called out to play and quickly put their things down.

I love how bright eyed this little one is. But secretly I must have this outfit for myself. What a fashionista!

I feel a little confused by this pic. How easy would this be if the children's clothes were hanging in the family room? If your child spilled some juice they could change their clothes near the T.V. Ah we can dream can't we?

Oh I enjoyed calling on the creative children fashionistas! Of course kids don't have to dress up all the time, but once in awhile why not? I believe creatively dressed and boutique design helps create creative kids. Tell me sweetie, how would it look it I had one of those small retro fridges in my kitchen?

Inspirational weekend quote: Clean slate

This inspirational weekend quote is, "To realize that your New Year is a clean slate." We have the power to make 2010 special and positive.

Do you believe in making New Year's resolutions?

I tried this year, but my resolutions turned out more cute then introspective.

See...

~ I promise to commit random acts of cuteness.
~ I will try not to respond to a comment with OMG.
~ I will stop having mock cell phone conversations to avoid talking to or acknowledging people.

Well I tried I guess. Maybe resolutions aren't for me!

To me 2009 seemed difficult for so many and with 2010 comes positivity, creativity, travel, love and new memories. Remember to use this inspirational weekend quote in your New Year sweetie! How many chances do you think we get?

Retro holiday presents and sweaters

Happy almost Christmas and a very warm retro New Year! Come join me for some special retro presents and sweaters. Sorry to say that I do not own a holiday sweater. So sorry sweetie if you are disappointed? Last year I was invited to a friends, "Wear your worst holiday sweater" party and I couldn't make it. I really want to share my holidays in this vintage way...

I love this idea of wrapping paper. All you need is some strong white construction paper and an alphabet rubber stamp. This idea is easy to do and creative.

Get out of town...how cute is this angel sweater and do they make it in big girl sizes?

Rice Krispies holiday present treats. I have to warn you that these squares will be gone really quickly! Basically because I would eat them all.

This is the exact way I always decorate my Christmas tree...don't you?

Maybe I can borrow this holiday sweater? Kitty doesn't seem to be enjoying it as much as his owner thought!

I really enjoyed our retro holiday presents and sweaters party, but I am more curious as to what is in this box! Well its not a car, too big for jewelery...wait you got me a holiday T-shirt. Uh you shouldn't have xoxo Tell me about the worst holiday sweater you've ever owned?

Do we really have to fly? Can't we just drive?

As we speak I am facing one of my biggest fears... did I mention I am horrible at flying? Instead of the hassle of flying, I wish I could just blink my eyes and be at my destination. I love to travel and have new experiences, but during my flights 'I white knuckle it'. Don't get me started about trying to sleep on planes! But what if I could I fly like this...

First I would wear an outfit like this one. Check out those boots!
Then I would put on my eye mask to sleep. Would you still take me seriously?

I would fly on Virgin America planes. Maybe it's because I'm in love with the red color and creativity of their airline. Or maybe it's because I can catch up on my T.V.

I would use all of these luggage tags on my one piece of luggage. So it was harder for me to lose it on the baggage carousel.

Although I don't like to fly, today is still a wonderful day because it's my Honey's birthday. So this is really the best day ever. Comment below and tell me if you like to fly? Do you miss getting meals on the planes? (Here's one of my favorite I'm leaving on a Jet Plane posts)
